Perfect World Entertainment Announces The End Of Its Game TorchLight

As the CEO of Motiga predicted, the developer of  Gigantic is not the only company being shut down by Perfect World Entertainment. Responsible for games like  Torchlight and Hob, Runic Games will also officially close its activities as of this Friday (3).

Perfect World Entertainment Announces The End Of Its Game TorchLight

“Perfect World Entertainment recently closed the Runic Games office in Seattle as part of the company’s continued strategy to focus on online gaming as a service. We are grateful to the team for all their hard work bringing incredible experiences like Torchlight, Torchlight II and Hob to life. ”

While Perfect World claims that it maintains Runic’s structure and support for its franchises, the fact that most of the company’s activities focused on the closed studio should not make fans very hopeful. According to the publisher, the closing of the company and the reduction of the number of employees of Motiga happened for reasons that are not related.
