Bandai Namco took a lot of people by surprise last Sunday when announcing the new fighter arriving at Tekken 7 via a DLC. Instead of “lending” a well-known name from the fighting games, the company bets on Noctis Lucis Caelum of Final Fantasy XV as the newest addition to its selection of fighters.
The protagonist of RPG arrives equipped with its Engine Blade that, combined with its magic, promises to make it a very versatile option within the game. The arrival of the character must be accompanied by the addition of a new thematic scenario, with the right appearance of figures such as Ignis, Gladiolus, Prompto and Cindy.
This is the third “outside” fighter that Tekken 7 has received since its announcement. The first of them was Akuma – who arrived at the game already at its launch and is an integral part of its history – being followed by Geese Howard, which will be added in December. As for Noctis, it should only be included in the game from the “spring of 2018” in the northern hemisphere, equivalent to our autumn
As with Geese, Noctis is part of the Tekken 7 season pass and can be purchased individually as soon as it is released by Bandai Namco. It remains to wait now to discover what surprise the developer will reveal to the third (and last) additional fighter promised by her.
