Learn how to downgrade and get back from iOS 11 to iOS 10.3.3

iOS 11 finally arrived. After a series of Betas versions, Apple has released the stable version of its operating system and a lot of people have already applied the update. However, if you’re sorry you left iOS 10.3.3 behind you, know that you can still return to it in a relatively simple way.

It is worth remembering that this downgrade option when you return to an earlier version of a software, is available for a limited time. Apple often removes older versions of its systems from its servers every time new ones are released, but at least for now it’s still possible to find it.

There are two ways to get back to iOS 10.3.3: via downgrade and via restore and in both cases you need to have iTunes installed on your computer . Learn about them now.

Downgrade

1. Download the old version of the firmware iOS equivalent to your device – this link you will find them all, and find your download.

2. Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer via USB. If it is the first time you connect the gadget to the PC, you will need to confirm the connection in a window that appears on the laptop screen.

3. At the top of the iTunes screen an icon will appear representing your device. Click on it.

4. A new screen appears on your computer, then hold down the Shift key (or Option, if you use Mac) and click “Restore iPhone”.

5. A new window opens on your PC, so find the firmware downloaded at the beginning. Select it and wait for the procedure to complete. Your laptop should be restarted and after that it will again have iOS 10.3.3

Backup

1. Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer via USB. If it is the first time you connect the gadget to the PC, you will need to confirm the connection in a window that appears on the laptop screen.

2. At the top of the iTunes screen an icon will appear representing your device. Click on it.

3. A new screen appears on your computer and you should choose the option “Restore Backup”.

4. Choose the backup you want to restore – note that you will need to back up to use this method. Follow the other instructions that appear on the screen and wait until the process is complete. Your gadget will restart and then have iOS 10.3.3 again.
