Netherrealm Studios had announced that it would reveal the third Injustice 2 fighter package yesterday (Friday, November 10). What no one expected was that he would appear so late, especially to us Brazilians, that we only had access to the content at 3 am. It may have taken a while, but the surprise paid off.
Oddly enough, one of the three fighters is the entire Ninjas Turtle team. Yes, the green fighting turtles we’ve known for ages. In addition to them (which are only one personage, apparently), Atom and Magic were presented. The hero was already expected because of the silhouette on the character screen (which showed someone very small), but Magic, Suicide Squad, was good news. Check out the trailer:
Undoubtedly, a very different selection than we expected. We are accustomed to characters from Mortal Kombat making faces and even horror movie villains appear in the Netherrealm franchises, but the Ninjas have really been well off the curve. In fact, the jacket that Raphael uses at the beginning of the trailer is a joke that Ed Boon made with the fans, who were theorizing the arrival of Watchmen’s Rorschach. So it’s a ninja turtle dressed in the anti-hero’s coat. As you might guess, the ad split the fan base, which does not quite know what to think of it so far.
Injustice 2 will still host Hellboy in Fighter Pack 2, but the developer has already promised early access to Atom (or Eléktron in some translations) by December 12 of that year. Probably the other characters will only arrive in 2018, possibly in January and February. Injustice 2 was released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in May but will win a PC version on November 14th.
