After closing a series of servers dedicated to preserving the memory of World of Warcraft , Blizzard decided to listen to the community that missed the “good old days”. During BlizzCon 2017, the developer revealed that it is working to bring back the “vanilla” experience of the MMO to those who did not like the changes made by the expansions and updates that the game has received over the years.
The developer has not revealed when it will launch the new servers, nor did it detail what it will take to access them. However, the developer asked the fans to be patient, since the rescue work of the original content is not necessarily easy.
The only guarantee left by Blizzard at the moment is that the game will not be faithful to the original release in at least one sense: players should not wait for the connection problems reported at the time of launch. It remains to wait for the disclosure of more details to know when we can finally experience this nostalgic experience which is also a beautiful work of historical preservation by the company.
