Since its announcement, Ark: Survival Evolved gained much notoriety for a trailer that showed an incredible open world and an extremely promising game. Whether this was fulfilled or not, we left the opinions to you, readers, but it is a fact that the game was a success and reached the consoles. But what about the Switch?
In an interview with DualShockers, Jesse Rapczak’s creative co-director Jesse Rapczak replied about the chance of a version for Nintendo’s handheld console, which has been quite successful. According to the executive, the Switch has third party support much larger than Wii U and would love to play Ark: Survival Evolved in a portable way.
However, it would be “very laborious” to do this. Despite saying that the engine is ready for new platforms, such as the Switch, the video game has less memory and power than an ordinary Xbox One, something that would require major changes in the structure of the game for the laptop to play the game.
According to Jesse Rapczak, in the end it would not be the same game, because the team would have to change many things, including functionalities and mechanics of the game, so that the hardware could support Ark . So, so far there are no plans to make a version for the Switch, but the subject is still open.
